We harvest and
plant rooted cuttings each spring as Nursery Stocks.
These one year old cuttings are produced annually
on high vigour and certified virus free mother beds. We plant and grow
these stocks which then form the basis of our new orchard trees.
Each cutting type has specific vigour
characteristics which we match up with the variety and intended soil type of the
new planting sites.
In February of each year we begin the process of
budding. This special grafting technique joins the new apple variety to
the nursery cutting and is grown on to produce a new tree ready for planting in
two years time.
