Young trees are
branch trained in the orchard each spring.
As the young trees grow each year we want the new
branches to be close to horizontal. This position is best to control tree
vigour and encourages a regular fruit set.
We perform this operation on each new tree in the
first spring of planting. The spring flush growth is driven by high sap
flow which make the brances flexible and easy to bend. |
